Jason Sydney

Chief Operations Officer

After spending a decade in finance and operations, Jason joined GVNG with the intention of one day starting his own foundation focused on elephant rescue and rehabilitation. Beyond having the opportunity to set up the processes and systems of GVNG's business operations, he is most proud of finding the talented team players he gets to work with on a daily basis. Jason enjoys live music, saying hello to dogs and breakfast burritos.

Cecily Jackson-Zapata

Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel

Cecily Jackson-Zapata

Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel

Cecily doesn’t think of herself as a lawyer but she is such a lawyer. She has been practicing tax law for over twenty years, so naturally Cecily is GVNG’s Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel. When Cecily isn’t herding the GVNG cats she volunteers on a number of nonprofit boards, including Social Enterprise Alliance, Phase One Foundation, Downtown LA Art Walk, and Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs (SEE). When she’s not volunteering she’s usually cooking, reading, or talking about politics with family and friends. As a GVNG user, Cecily wants her nonprofit to help charities that serve women of color maximize the benefits of employing social enterprise strategies.

Andy Cheatwood

VP of Product

Andy Cheatwood

VP of Product

Andy Cheatwood is GVNG’s head of product management. As a seasoned startup vet, Andy knows what it takes to launch world-class software and digital brands on a short timeline and with limited resources. Andy joined GVNG out of a desire to crack one of the biggest puzzles in the space: navigating the myriad rules and regulations governing the nonprofit industry. In previous endeavors, Andy has successfully built and scaled products that helped consumers make better purchasing decisions, got teenagers engaged in current events and raised awareness for a pair of American journalists who were detained in North Korea in 2009.

Corinne Dorfman

VP of Client Philanthropy

Corinne Dorfman

VP of Client Philanthropy

As a lifelong camp counselor, Corinne brings her own, special brand of fun to the GVNG party – generally with a story about camp. Her passion for nonprofits began at nonprofit camps serving children who deserved a place to escape and rekindle the joys of childhood. Prior to GVNG, Corinne was honored with a RAND Corporation Medal Award for her work in conceptualizing and building RANDNext, a program that inspires young professionals to engage in policy. Having worked to support policy research, childhood medical conditions, cancer research and homelessness, Corinne now admittedly keeps a four-page excel sheet (small font) of ideas for nonprofits she sees a place for in our world. At GVNG, Corinne heads up our Client Philanthropy Team where she oversees our VIP consulting services, guides our Nonprofit University and supports GVNG.org. Her passion for GVNG lies in the opportunity for innovation so that philanthropic management can be offered in entirely new ways, potentially to millions of people. When she retires, she plans to be a Volunteer Manager. At camp.

Taurean Gordon

Director of Sales and Customer Service

Taurean Gordon

Director of Sales and Customer Service

A lover of space, megalithic structures and Cinnabon, Taurean has always had an interest in the how and why behind how things work. This interest has driven his 10+ years of experience in optimizing key business segments across varied industries to drive business growth and customer satisfaction. With GVNG, Taurean utilizes these interests and skills to lead all sales and customer service efforts.

As a GVNG user, Taurean wants to start a nonprofit that bridges the communication gaps across science verticals, specifically related to the historical relevance and purpose of megalithic structures and our historical interest in astronomy.

Lisa Gluck

Director of Corporate Philanthropy

Lisa Gluck

Director of Corporate Philanthropy

Hailing from Michigan (Go Blue), Lisa left her winter coat at home for warmer days in sunny LA. While spending her days making us smile, Lisa also serves as the resident Corporate Social Responsibility guru, overseeing the day-to-day operations of GVNG's corporate charitable clients. Prior to GVNG, she managed charitable foundations for professional athletes, entertainers and entrepreneurs at The Giving Back Fund. Lisa also worked in corporate philanthropy at the global beauty brand Dermalogica, where her work centered on supporting female entrepreneurship. Lisa serves on the Advisory Board of the Los Angeles Jewish Federation Changemaker Challenge, is a Communications Advisor for Future of Cities Los Angeles and received congressional recognition for her work in the service sector in 2015. When asked what she likes to do for fun, she answered “engaging young leaders to build a better tomorrow.” Trust us, she is way more fun than that sounds.

Olivia Marcey

Philanthropy Analyst

Olivia Marcey

Philanthropy Analyst

An endlessly curious and outspoken intersectional feminist, Olivia joined the GVNG team in early 2017 and promptly became our resident social justice warrior. She’s a detail-oriented thinker with a big-picture attitude, and works like she’s on a mission to leave the world better than she found it. Because she is. Olivia bounces between nearly every team at GVNG, managing projects through the lenses of nonprofit compliance and user experience.

As a GVNG user, Olivia wants to start a nonprofit that engages parents of the LGBTQ+ community and partners with other organizations in the Los Angeles area (for starters) to tackle the issues surrounding youth homelessness in the community.

Jason Berger

UX/UI Designer

Jason Berger

UX/UI Designer

Jason joined the GVNG team as Lead UX/UI Designer in the summer of 2017. He’s a film enthusiast and graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where he spent 2009 through 2013 passionately rambling about David Lynch and Stanley Kubrick. Jason believes in maintaining a concerted sense of empathy throughout the design process. At the end of the day - no matter the product’s function or purpose - it will ultimately land in the hands of a living, breathing person. Designs must reflect this fact, as we're not building this stuff for robots (for now, anyway).

Jason would like to use the GVNG platform to create a nonprofit that advocates for the rights of animals and calls attention to their horrific mistreatment in the meat industry.
